Alcohol Awareness Classes For All Drivers
My son was recently in a car accident with a friend who was driving while under the influence of alcohol, so I want him to take alcohol awareness classes. Although he does not face any criminal charges, since he was a passenger and passed the breathalyzer test, I want to make sure he fully understands how dangerous driving under the influence can be.
Apparently, no one in the car was aware that they could get into trouble because the driver had only had two beers and he was not visibly impaired in any way. In fact, my son insisted that everyone, including the driver, was behaving normally just before the accident. This was a disappointing turn of events for me because I had always tried to stress to my children that even one drink can impair a person's motor skills enough to either cause an accident, or prevent them from being able to react quickly enough to avoid an accident while driving.
