Sometimes Alcohol and Drug Education Classes Can Replace Jail Time

Addiction to alcohol can be a very dangerous problem, not only for the individual, but his family as well. Some people have a hard time admitting they have a problem, until they hit rock bottom. Sometimes it unfortunately takes an incident in which the law gets involved to get the person into some sort of educational program for rehabilitation. In these instances, a 24 hour alcohol and drug awareness program may be mandated instead of jail time. These are classes that teach the addict the skills necessary to try and end the behavior. Many judges now allow the offender to take the class the online rather than in a traditional classroom setting. This way the individual can take them at his or her own pace and not have to worry about missing work or school to attend an in-person class. When the class is finished, a certificate of completion is given to show that the court ordered requirement was met. When a judge sees a candidate who is struggling with addiction, he will often order classes such as this to help the person learn to understand and overcome their addiction.

I Learned My Lesson And Will Take An 8 Hour, Level 1 Alcohol Awareness Class Online

I am by no means an alcoholic. I almost never drink, and this is exactly what got me into the situation that I am in today. After work last week some friends of mine convinced me that it would be a good idea for me to go with them to a bar and have a few drinks. Now my intention was to maybe just have one or two drinks, and then drive home. In fact that is exactly what I did. However since I am not a drinker, and the drinks that were served me were extremely strong, just having two drinks was enough to get me drunk. As a result when I was pulled over by a police officer as I was driving home I failed a breathalyzer test. What a stressful situation! I had to pay fines, lost my license for a while and have to take an 8 hour, level 1 alcohol awareness class. I absolutely can't miss work right now because I'm also a single mother and can't afford to take time off to go to the weekly classes. Thankfully the judge heard my story and has agreed to let me take them online. This way I don't have to lose any income or pay more for a babysitter. I can login to the classes after my son goes to bed at night and will finish them within a week. It is a little embarrassing, but it is my fault and I can promise I've learned my lesson!.

Taking A 16 Hour Alcohol And Drug Awareness Class Has Changed My Outlook

I was ordered by the court to complete a 16 hour, level 2 alcohol and drug awareness class. I was angry when I had to do this because I didn't want to sit for 16 hours and hear a bunch of things that did not apply to me, or listen to other people's annoying stories. I had to do it though or I would end up facing possible jail time. I was able to find a class online that would meet the court's requirement. I intended to only give it the minimum amount of attention that I could but I found myself actually taking in everything that I learned. It was engaging, interesting and showed me that I was on a path that could lead to a lot of destruction of not only myself but my family as well. I just never really thought about the long-term risk factors involved but it is hard to dispute them when the statistics and science prove the overwhelming dangers of addiction. This has actually changed my outlook on everything. They turned out to be an opportunity to change my life rather than a chore.

Ask Your Judge If You Can Take Your Court Ordered Alcohol Awareness Class Online

If you are looking for an alcohol education class because of a DUI, try looking at online classes. I live in North Carolina but got a DUI violation in Connecticut this past summer. It would have been impossible for me to fly back to Connecticut to take the in-person classes that my judge originally assigned. My lawyer contacted him and was able to get approval to take a 12 hour online alcohol awareness class instead. It was great because I could stay at home and take it at my own pace. I really wanted to put this situation behind me, so I devoted about an hour a night over 2 weeks. The class was interesting and really made me think twice about drinking alcohol at all. I was caught for my DUI after a wedding party during which I definitely had too much, but I don't normally drink and could really take it or leave it. After learning all the risks and repercussions, I'm ready to indulge in something healthier. Ask your judge if you can take your court ordered alcohol awareness class online. You'll be glad you did!

Helping out Friends with Issues With An Online Drug and Alcohol Class

My friends and I used to get high when we were in high school. We all went our separate ways and I thankfully got into a really good college despite my delinquent behavior. This past Winter break we reunited when I came home from school for a few weeks. It was like I never left. They were still hanging out at the same places, doing the same things, only they seemed to have upped the level of drugs and alcohol. I was really worried about my oldest and best friend in particular. He's working retail and still living at home and seemed depressed. I could tell he needed someone to talk to so I invited him over and we hung out in my parent's basement. I told him that I thought he was getting too involved with the amount of drugs he was taking and I actually registered on my laptop for an online drug class. At first he laughed at me and told me I was being insane, but as we started reading through the class, it began to get interesting. I don't think he really thought about what the drugs were doing to his health. He came over two more times after that and we finished up an 8 hour alcohol and drug awareness class. I think it shocked him out of his bad habits. He called me at school last week and sounded really good. I can't believe how responsible I've become!
