The Loss of My Daughter Motivated My Support Of Taking Online Alcohol Classes

Drunk driving is the worst thing that a person can do. I received the phone call over a year ago that my daughter had been hit by a drunk driver and that she had died. I could not believe the grief that I felt, because I just could not believe that someone would do such a horrible thing. The person that hit my daughter was found and was sentenced to fifty years in prison, and we were very happy about the conviction, even though it really did not give us any peace as a family. I decided that I was going to change our tragedy into a triumph and I started teaching alcohol awareness classes. I have also been advising parents to enroll their kids in online alcohol classes to learn about the risks of drinking and what can happen if they drink and drive. No one should ever have to experience the loss of a child by a drunk driver, but I am doing all that I can to make sure that another mother does not have to go through what I did.

How to Teach Drug and Alcohol Awareness to Employees

The company where I work at is really strict when it comes to employees doing anything illegal. I work at a small family owned business as a human resource manager and my job is very important to me so I take the owner's concerns seriously. One day the owner said he wanted to raise employee awareness as to the dangers of prescription drugs because he just found out his sister was addicted to pain killers. I found a company that provided work place safety seminars and asked them about online drug and alcohol classes for our staff. Thankfully, the company provided this sort of service and I had everything arranged for employees to log in to the class the next day. The class touched on areas such as drug usage, symptoms of addiction and where to go for treatment. I thought the online drug and alcohol classes were helpful and it definitely made the employees more sensitive to this problem.

My Niece Was Busted Last Friday

My niece just got busted for being in possession of alcohol last Friday. She is only 15 years old. According to my niece, this is what happened. She was at a party at a friend's house. They apparently had a good deal of alcohol available, so most all of the kids were drinking. The party got out of hand when some boy was dancing uncontrollably near some candles and he knocked them over. Some curtains caught on fire. The neighbors noticed and called the fire department. The kids were all freaking out, but none of them were sober enough to have sense to know what to do. So the fire department showed up, and then the cops were called because of all the minors drinking alcohol. My niece was there and so she was busted with the rest of the teens. She now has to go through a alcohol awareness class specifically for minors in possession.  She's not happy about it, but things could have been much worse.  I told her to ask the judge to approve an online course because both her parents work full time and it will be a hardship for them if they have to miss any work to take her to a classroom.

How Drug Education Helped My Brother-in-law

My brother-in-law has always seemed like he has had a fight with something. When he was younger his fight was with his grades in school. As he got older it seemed like he just had a difficult time getting along with, and fitting in with the people around him. Once he got out of high school he seemed to only fit with people who were on the fringes of society. He only fit in with people who got involved with drug abuse, and alcohol abuse. We tried to help him but it just seemed like he did not want our help. It was very sad to see how he slowly went downhill. He ended up in a position where his whole life revolved around just taking drugs and drinking alcohol. It was not until he took an alcohol and drug education class that he was able to get his life turned around. Now he's a different person.

The Importance of Being Aware

If you or a family member are interested in learning about the dangers of abusing alcohol, then try an alcohol and drug awareness class online.  Not a lot of people realize that there are classes like this to educate the public in the privacy of your own home. When you take a class like this you will be able to learn a lot of different things about substance abuse and how to overcome it. It is an excellent way to educate young adults about the possible risks and repercussions to getting involved with alcohol and other illegal substances. Courses are inexpensive and a good supplement to correct any misinformation your child learns on the playground.
